Dane Street, a leading Independent Review Organization (IRO) and national provider of Utilization Review (UR) services, is currently expanding our physician panel. We are seeking Board-Certified Neurological Surgeons with an active Illinois medical license to perform independent medical reviews on a flexible, remote (telework) basis.
This is a non-clinical, contract opportunity (1099) ideal for physicians interested in supplemental income and non-traditional work while maintaining an active surgical or clinical practice.

Compensation: Per-case payment (average case takes 15–20 minutes)
Workload: You set your own schedule and case volume

Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical necessity determinations on treatment and surgical requests
- Review appealed cases and render evidence-based opinions
- No direct patient care or treatment involved – this is advisory only
- Complete all reviews using Dane Street’s secure and user-friendly portal
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Illinois Medical License
- Board Certification in Neurological Surgery
- Active clinical or surgical practice
- Strong written communication skills
