Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 D.O.E. + discretionary company bonus scheme

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and value-driven PHP Developer to join our growing team based around the country.

You’ll be helping develop our custom eCommerce platform and websites and as such, experience building systems on a LAMP stack are essential.

We’re offering the opportunity to gain experience working for a national company, all required tools, company bonus scheme, company pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.

Requirements

  • Linux Apache MySQL PHP (LAMP stack) development knowledge
  • Symfony or alternative PHP framework experience
  • An understanding of frontend tech, HTML/CSS/JS
  • GIT experience, branching/commiting/pushing/pulling etc.
  • Basic server administration and comfortable on command line
  • CI/CD deployment knowledge
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies
  • At least 3 years experience in a backend developer position

It would be an advantage if you have further experience in the following areas:

  • Advanced JavaScript (e.g. AJAX, JSON)
  • Knowledge of open source platforms and software
  • Understanding of PSR standards

In addition to the technical ability above, the ideal developer will be commercially minded, with strong interpersonal skills, be comfortable in front of managers and have the ability to explain technical subjects to non-technical people.
