Role Overview

The Associate Director/Director of Search and Talent Acquisition will be a pivotal figure in leading our search and selection activities. Reporting to the Lead Operating Officer, this role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, from talent acquisition and client relationship management to operations and project management. The Director will also be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration of systems and processes, emphasizing attention to detail and a proactive solutions approach.

Primary  Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition (50%):

  • Lead the full-cycle recruiting process, from sourcing to placement, for roles ranging from manager to chief-level, CEO, and executive director-level positions.
  • Ensure the successful placement of diverse candidates using our recruitment and selection process which leverages candidates from our internal network and through internet tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter. 
  • Design and implement search protocols, role competency matrices, and interview strategies.
  • Ensure profitability of projects through the management of a team of staff and contractors, including time and resource planning and management.
  • Mentor, train, and support a team of individuals reporting to you to effectively deliver on the core search work.
  • Continually provide direct, specific, and actionable feedback to team members to quickly address performance needs including both strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop and take action against standard operating procedures to ensure the team is supported and can deliver search products.

Client Relationships and Management (30%):

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Develop and execute client retention practices and strategies (e.g., high-quality client experience, regular evaluation of client satisfaction, quarterly client and candidate check-ins, upselling/cross-selling of other services and solutions).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and feedback, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Conduct regular project check-ins and updates with clients to keep them informed about project progress and any changes.
  • Enlist the support of the team members, consultants, and the CEO to support client success.
  • Bring a high-level amount of attention to detail in communication (written and verbal) with clients internally and externally to ensure customer satisfaction, alignment, and timely progress toward project completion.

Division Leadership (10%):

  • Oversee a team of contractors, ensuring optimal staffing and performance.
  • Provide training and guidance on client interactions, offering expert advice on search strategies.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting open communication and feedback.
  • Implement regular check-ins to ensure contractor alignment with search project strategies and standards.
  • Lead the division by taking ownership of projects, demonstrating accountability, and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Creatively problem-solve challenges and find innovative solutions to the needs of the Division.

Operations (10%):

  • Implement systems that tie all processes together, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
  • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail and a willingness to dive deep into operational challenges.
  • Provide timely reporting and reflect with the CEO on the profitability of each search.
  • Analyze and synthesize information from various sources quickly and accurately.
  • Pay attention to detail in all tasks and ensure information is distributed to the team, gaps are addressed and closed, and the client experience is seamless and high-quality.
  • Ensure the team maintains fidelity to the developed systems and identify and implement modifications to improve the overall efficiency of the team.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle talent acquisition – including sourcing, recruiting, qualification, screening, rigorous assessment, communications, project management, reporting, and client management – in a high-performing environment with high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience leading client meetings, effectively communicating key points, and fostering collaborative discussions to drive project success. 
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team of external contractors.
  • Extraordinary project management skills, with the ability to confidently and adeptly handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including self-awareness and adaptability to meet the various needs of different client types. 
  • Deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment and hiring practices.
  • Familiarity with the public school, charter school, and non-profit education sector or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to identify success metrics and create systems for monitoring and reporting.
  • Preference for candidates in the central and mountain time zones.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits:

The overall range for this role is $85,000 – $135,000, inclusive of base salary and performance bonuses. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience as well as geographic location. Please note that the range listed is comprehensive and your specific compensation band will vary by location.

This is a fully remote position with occasional travel for client meetings and team retreats. The compensation package includes a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, life, and disability insurance, 401k employee contribution option, vacation benefits and other paid time off benefits. .
