Android Developer
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an Android developer who will be closely collaborating with our in-house team of doctors, athletes, designers and developers, building out the first version of Forma for Android.
About Forma
Founded by 22× Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal and his friend and doctor Ángel Ruiz-Cotorro, Forma is on a mission to prevent injury by giving players personalized, medically backed information, enabling sustainable, lifelong performance of the sport.
Work at Forma
Forma is in a unique position to bring health-conscious behavior to the tennis world at scale. A founding team with backgrounds at IDEO, Headspace, R/GA, as well as the tennis and medical worlds. We want to build a product team and culture that values high output, and high quality — a team obsessed with making players thrive.
You’ll get to shape the engineering foundations from the ground up, play a significant role in building its culture, and build a high-growth, venture-backed product company from 0→1 together with a world-class medical team and the backing of legendary athletes like Rafael Nadal.
Requirements
Your responsibilities
- Foster code integrity, organization, and automation through continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Architect your code to be scalable, maintainable and reusable, following engineering best practices.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers to transform designs into seamless, animated user experiences.
- Work with other team members (including back-end and product) to discuss, prioritize and take appropriate decisions.
- Communicate with non-technical team members, and can translate their feedback into code.
Skills we ask
Android:
- Strong experience in Android development (at least 3 years of experience).
- Proficient in Kotlin, Java, Android SDK and Android UI and architecture design principles for building scalable, modularized, testable apps from scratch.
- Familiarity with Jetpack Compose for modern, declarative UIs.
- Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client for Android.
- Proficiency in CameraX for camera integration and Lottie for animation is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage background tasks effectively, optimizing app performance while conserving battery life, with a thorough understanding of Android’s background processing capabilities.
General perspective:
- Experience working in remote teams.
- Be a team player with a “can do” attitude.
- Good communicator and creative thinker.
- Ability to use data to inform all decisions.
- You are comfortable building proof-of-concept prototypes to evaluate design directions and iterate quickly.
- You are comfortable writing and maintaining technical documentation as well as onboarding and mentoring co-workers.
- You care about high-quality work; think high frame rate, thoughtful interaction design, and delightful experiences.
- You are product focused. You want to listen to customers, and build the product that will solve their needs.

- Interest in health-tech technologies.
- Experience having worked on medical products is a big plus.
- Passion for sports or tennis is a plus but not required (but will probably be inevitable working on Forma).
Benefits
- Full-time permanent contract.
- Remote & flexible schedule, based on Barcelona and Spain.
- Work in one of the next leading companies in the health-tech industry.
- A company culture built on trust, autonomy, and independence.
- Competitive salary and career goals.
- The chance to work in a diverse, international, inclusive and respectful environment with a strong focus on people’s development.
- Be part of a highly talented team with a young, ambitious, highly motivated, and fun-loving culture.
