The mission at Satoshi Energy is to enable every electric power company to utilize bitcoin in order to accelerate progress toward a world with decentralized sound money and abundant sustainable energy. The company was founded in 2018 on two premises: 1) energy companies will leverage bitcoin mining to support investment in low cost sustainable energy, and 2) energy companies operating in 24/7 power markets will benefit from 24/7 real time financial settlement. Today, we are a market leader connecting nearly 2 gigawatts of renewable energy assets with bitcoin mining data centers under novel contract structures while building a suite of tools to enable energy companies to transact in bitcoin. In the future, we envision every kilowatt-hour streamed to an energy consumer will be settled instantaneously with a payment streamed to the energy producer.

As an Account Manager you will join a small, focused team of bitcoiners, engineers, and energy experts. You will be responsible for managing accounts with world leading energy and data center companies and closing deals in this fast growing market. You will work across the organization and have opportunities to drive sales and marketing strategies, and contribute to product strategy. As we grow, you will be instrumental in helping build the team, drive the company strategy and build a more decentralized and sustainable future.

Your Day To Day

  • Manage existing and new target accounts to drive strategy and close sales of data center projects colocated with utility scale power generators and supporting financial settlement software.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts and become their go to person when they think about colocating loads for energy companies or developing sites for data center companies.
  • Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders within energy companies and data center companies to drive more value to our customers.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations to secure new business and achieve revenue targets.
  • Monitor and track account performance, sales metrics, and market trends, providing sales forecasts and pipeline information.
  • Help develop and prioritize marketing and sales materials.
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and development teams on go to market strategies for both new markets and new product introductions.
  • Provide the voice of the customer perspective to Satoshi Energy product and development teams based on your deep understanding of our customers needs and Satoshi Energy’s areas of competence and focus.
  • Contribute to the sales process, procedures, applications, and systems to enable the company to achieve the sales targets.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulations, and incentives related to renewable energy to effectively advise account customers and maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with utility-scale renewable energy project origination, or vendor sales to renewable energy developers, retail electric providers, electric utilities, or data center companies.
  • Proven success with targeted account selling and solution selling to renewable energy developers, retail electric providers, electric utilities, or data center companies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to effectively communicate complex technical matters verbally and in writing.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills that deliver win-win outcomes.
  • Ability to analyze data and make insights for customers that challenge the way they think about energy markets and financial infrastructure.
  • Critical thinker with good judgment skills who doesn’t simply accept a “business as usual” approach and has a willingness to take risks.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with ability to work on initiatives simultaneously and prioritize effectively and follow through in a consistent manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work, contribute, and adapt as an effective team player in a fast paced startup environment.
  • Positive professional demeanor with a collaborative low ego mindset.
  • Knowledge of the changing power market landscape and the impact of renewables.
  • Tech savvy with experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts), AirTable, Box and seeks to automate work.
  • Willingness to travel ~50% or as required to meet with  customers and attend energy conferences and trade shows.
