This is a hands-on role for a highly motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven company. Experience with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and online retailer portals (e.g., Walmart, Target) is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll support, and GL maintenance.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements and management reports.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure proper accounting of COGS, inventory, and retail/digital channel revenues.
  • Work closely with external tax, audit, and financial consultants.
  • Support financial compliance with GAAP standards and internal controls.
  • Maintain and optimize accounting systems including QuickBooks Online and Bill.com.
  • Help integrate and reconcile data from retailer portals (e.g., Walmart Retail Link, Target Partners Online) and DTC platforms.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of accounting experience, including work in CPG or retail product-based businesses.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com.
  • Experience with CPG sales channels, particularly big-box retail and DTC.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Based in or able to work comfortably within U.S. time zones.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • CPA or CPA-eligible.
  • Experience with online retailer portals such as Walmart Retail Link and Target Partners Online.
  • Familiarity with Shopify, NetSuite, or other ERP/ecommerce integrations.
  • Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
