Position Summary

We are seeking a Shopify Engineer to support the development of advanced Shopify features and integrations across our eCommerce platform.

You will be responsible for implementing Shopify APIs, customizing themes and apps, enabling tracking and reporting integrations, and supporting store automation workflows — all in collaboration with our CMO and business stakeholders.

All business requirements, reporting needs, and flow logic will be defined by the CMO; your focus will be on implementing the required technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Theme & Front-End Development

  • Customize and extend Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript
  • Build new templates, sections, landing pages, and marketing pages within Shopify themes
  • Customize and enhance the Shopify cart and checkout experience to support tracking and business workflows
  • Ensure responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and optimized page performance

Shopify API & App Integrations

  • Integrate with Shopify APIs (REST) and implement Shopify webhooks
  • Customize and integrate apps from the Shopify App Store
  • Build or extend custom functionality within the Shopify ecosystem as needed

Data & Reporting

  • Work with Shopify data (Orders, Customers, Products) to support integration and reporting needs
  • Implement tracking pixels, UTM parameters, and other marketing tags through Shopify
  • Surface relevant Shopify data to internal reporting tools and dashboards

Store Automation & Workflow Implementation

  • Support the implementation of store automations and workflows as defined by the business team, including order tagging, customer segmentation, and affiliate-related processes

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of Shopify development (themes, apps, APIs)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Liquid, HTML/CSS, and JSON
  • Strong experience with Shopify API (REST) and webhooks
  • Experience customizing and integrating Shopify apps
  • Familiarity with Shopify data structures (Orders, Customers, Products)
  • Understanding of UTM parameters and tracking implementations
  • Ability to implement automations and workflows within the Shopify ecosystem
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders (CMO, Marketing & Sales)
  • Experience integrating with or supporting affiliate programs (such as Post Affiliate Pro) including tracking, reporting, and related workflows
  • Experience implementing Shopify subscription solutions, including integration with subscription apps and handling recurring billing workflows

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience integrating Shopify with Zoho CRM and contact center platforms such as Aircall
  • Experience integrating Shopify data with internal reporting tools and dashboards
  • Experience using Shopify Flow to implement store automations
  • Experience with customer experience automation and chatbot integrations within Shopify, including tools such as Mailchimp or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with Shopify Payments, Authorize.net, and payment-related APIs for reporting and payouts
  • Exposure to AI-powered chatbots or intent-based automation

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience, technical proficiency, and depth of relevant skills.

  • Candidates at the lower end of the range will bring solid Shopify development skills and the ability to implement core functionality with guidance.
  • Candidates at the higher end of the range will demonstrate advanced Shopify engineering experience and will possess multiple Bonus Skills that directly support the integrations, reporting, and automation needs of this role.

The more Bonus Skills you bring, the more value you add — and the higher your compensation will reflect that.
