Senior Data Engineer (remote, m/f/d)

If you are an experienced and versatile Senior Data Engineer with strong skills in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, databases, and data workflows, while ensuring data quality, security, and compliance – this could be the role for you:
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from diverse sources
- Design, develop, and maintain databases to store and organize large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Optimize and monitor database performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage
- Develop efficient workflows and automate business processes around data
- Provide analytical support by extracting, transforming and interpreting data from various data sources
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards
- Integrate and manage data from multiple data sources and ensure data consistency and quality
- Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure accurate and reliable data
- Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with data governance policies
- Investigate and support the business in providing solutions for data issues
- Collaborate directly with the business stakeholders to implement solutions addressing their needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and other software engineers
- Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices and coding standards
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve data engineering practices
- Document data engineering processes, data flows, and system architectures clearly and comprehensively
- Act as a technical advisor and provide guidance to other teams and department
- Mentor and guide junior engineers on the team
Requirements
This is what you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science with a or a related field (Master Degree is a plus)
- Experience with data modelling and visualization tools commonly used in the team’s tech stack
- Good knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases
- Experience with BI reporting tools
- Knowledge of at least one data analysis language (Python, R, etc.)
- Experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, etc.)
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for building and deploying data solutions
- Ability to design and implement data models to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of structured and unstructured data
- Understanding of data security principles and practices to ensure the protection of sensitive information
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent problem-solving skills for addressing complex data challenges
