Position Overview:

We’re seeking a Senior Shopify Lead Developer with extensive experience and a deep understanding of Shopify and headless Shopify development using React and Next.js. This role requires a balanced focus, with responsibilities split between hands-on coding and leading a development team. You will oversee project management, mentor team members, and conduct code reviews, ensuring that all projects achieve exceptional standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Development:

• Develop and maintain high-quality Shopify-based digital experiences.
• Build responsive front-end features and themes using Liquid, Tailwind CSS, React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Ensure code quality through thorough reviews and adherence to best practices.
• Optimize performance and scalability of e-commerce solutions.
• Ensure websites meet baseline ADA compliance standards.

Leadership & Project Management:

• Lead and mentor a small development team.
• Manage project lifecycles from initiation to completion.
• Set achievable goals and keep projects on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.

Code Reviews & Mentorship:

• Conduct detailed code reviews to uphold code quality standards.
• Provide constructive feedback to the development team.
• Share knowledge and best practices to foster team growth.

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Translate client requirements into technical specifications.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other internal and external teams to deliver cohesive solutions.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of full-stack JavaScript web development experience.
• Expert knowledge of Shopify, React.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with third-party Shopify apps, APIs, and plugins.
• Experience with ADA website accessibility standards.
• Knowledgeable about technical SEO best practices.
• Experience with performance optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in version control using GitHub.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor a team in a remote environment.
• A strong eye for detail to ensure that all websites are visually aligned with the designs provided by the design team.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with web animations using Three.js, Framer Motion, and GSAP is a huge plus.
