Business Analyst/Service Designer – contract role (Outside)
A new opportunity for a Business Analyst/Service Designer to start ASAP.
SC eligible/SC clearance is desirable.
4 month contract initially.
Remote working – There may be occasional (1- 2 within the timeframe) away days where travel will be required.

Services / outcomes required
- Conduct analysis and identify where reports do/don’t match user needs (e.g., ORA, CEDAR, other end-of-day reporting) by reviewing current reporting suites across our client’s teams.
- Recommend design/s for a new reporting structure that is more user-focused and meets needs at both teams’ and enterprise level.
- Facilitation of teams across our client to help define, communicate, land, and implement process changes as part of data and reporting transformation recommendations.
Business Analyst
- User-focused approach. You’ll have a breadth of experience of gathering user, business and technical requirements .This will include experience synthesising needs at both micro and macro levels.
- Operate in varying levels of detail. You’ll focus both on detail of individual reports, and zoom out to consider enterprise level needs.
- Facilitation: running workshops with client teams to elicit needs and build a shared understanding of data journey and needs across the organisation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll have experience quickly building relationships across multiple teams and establishing yourself as a trusted point of contact.
- Landscape and gap analysis: You’ll be able to identify and scope discrete work packages and prioritise them effectively, communicating these packages and priorities back to the relevant teams.
- Context switching. You’ll be able to quickly build knowledge of complex technical and policy spaces and quickly context-switch between different teams and audiences.
- Data dependencies. Understanding and mapping dependencies across systems and data fields to assess the impact of change.
- Business process and ecosystem mapping: Experience of mapping business processes and data flows across multiple services/systems and visualising these with clarity
Other skills/expectations:
- Competent communicator who can work with key stakeholders (i.e. policy and product SMEs) to engineer the relevant requirements
- Proactive and can work autonomously when performing analysis and problem exploration
- Experience of working under Kanban ways of working
- Competent in writing user stories/tech tickets for developers
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- You’ll understand data modelling at a conceptual and logical level and can map out how different services and systems utilise these models.
