3D Animator

We are looking for a skilled and passionate 3D animator/artist to be part of a growing development team for a video game company. We are currently developing a 2.5D turn-based game in Unreal Engine 5 with some new tech twists. Your role would be to take charge of the 3D animation pipeline and create outstanding animations. This is a small development team so you would be involved in a lot of the decision-making regarding animation and aesthetics. This is a remote position where you would be accountable for your own work so efficient time-management and collaboration skills are a must. 

Please also have an outstanding portfolio/demo reel to showcase your past projects and abilities with 3D modeling and animation. 

Requirements

  • 3+ years as an animator on real-time or pre-rendered projects
  • 5+ years of industry experience, with at least 1 shipped game in an animation role
  • Experience with using Unreal Engine 4 and 5
  • Experience with using Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, and other animation tools.
  • Strong sense of visual storytelling (emphasis on character performance, fight choreography, shot composition, and timing)
  • Experience retargeting, and animating Bipeds and Creatures
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Ability to help guide and maintain the character animation pipeline
  • Efficient time-management and self-initiative
  • Experience with facial animation and lip-syncing.
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, weight, and fluidity.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with animation tools and techniques, including rigging, skinning, and motion capture.
  • Knowledge about video editing and cut techniques
  • Experience with multiple art skill sets, i.e. 3D modeling, texturing, or 2D concepting.
