About the role:
As a Staff Software Engineer at CloudTalk, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our products and contributing to the success of our engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and align with our company’s goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers.
At CloudTalk, senior engineers are part of the Architecture guild, it is expected that you will play a key role in shaping our architecture and architecture decisions.
Your first goal will be to map our current architecture and create a vision where we want to get to and help execute on that vision. Later on you might be a part of the team working on an architecture problem, mentoring others and when the job is done in that team you’ll move to another one.
What you will do:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team
- Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and project goals
- Drive the implementation of best practices, coding standards, and design patterns
- Design and develop robust, scalable, performantand maintainable software solutions
- Lead the implementation of complex features and modules
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards
- Actively contribute to the ideation and implementation of innovative solutions
- Solve complex technical challenges and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to propose improvements to current systems
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, and operations, to deliver high-quality software products
What we are looking for:
- 8+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Proven expertise in Go, Node.js and other programming languages. At this level you should be a programming polyglot rather than focused on one language
- Good knowledge of Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring other SW Engineers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Effective cross functional communication and collaboration skills
