About the Role:

The Paid Search Expert at Digital Strategy Group is responsible for managing and optimizing paid search campaigns for our clients, providing expert advice, and ensuring exceptional outcomes and returns on investment (ROI) for our clients’ digital marketing efforts. 

Reporting to the CEO, this role involves setting up, testing, optimizing, and monitoring the results of our clients’ paid search campaigns, managing their Google Ads, Facebook Ads and YouTube Ads accounts, ensuring that every campaign aligns with the marketing strategies, objectives, and expectations of our clients. This position requires you to be knowledgeable and experienced with paid search trends, and digital marketing principles to ultimately manage digital marketing campaigns in a way that is effective, highly visible, and delivers exceptional results for our clients.

Responsibilities will generally include using demand-side platforms to advertise our clients’ businesses, maximizing advertising visibility on major search engines, and ensuring a positive return on investment (ROI) for our clients’ spending on paid search campaigns. You will also regularly provide clients with insightful advice on costs, expectations, and outcomes, along with monthly reports and recommendations for enhancing their paid search profitability.

The primary mission of our Paid Search Expert is to ensure exceptional experiences and successful outcomes for our clients by effectively managing and optimizing their paid search campaigns. This includes effectively engaging with our clients (via email, phone, and video conferencing calls), aligning campaign strategies with client objectives, ensuring the effective implementation and optimization of our clients’ paid search efforts, working to maximize each campaign’s ROI metrics, and providing expert advice and guidance to our clients on paid search marketing matters. 

General responsibilities:

The responsibilities of our Paid Search Expert include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Creating, testing, optimizing, and monitoring the paid search campaigns for our clients
  • Running and managing our clients’ Google Ads, Facebook Ads and YouTube ads accounts
  • Setting up and tracking conversions to measure campaign effectiveness accurately
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication via email and phone to address inquiries and provide feedback on campaign performance
  • Preparing comprehensive monthly reports for our clients regarding the status, performance, costs, and results of their paid search campaigns and efforts
  • Facilitating monthly meetings with our clients to advise them and other stakeholders on the costs, expectations, outcomes, and processes involved in their paid search efforts
  • Defining campaign budgets, aligning campaign goals, and ensuring adherence to search optimization principles for the effective management of our clients’ paid search efforts
  • Developing and implementing retargeting strategies to re-engage website visitors and previous customers, optimizing ad content and targeting to drive conversions
  • Monitoring and analyzing web analytics and campaign performance to make data-driven decisions and adjustments that are in the best interests of our clients
  • Using demand-side RTP platforms to promote our clients’ paid adverts and search campaigns to help them reach a broader audience, generate more leads, and convert more customers
  • Ensuring a positive ROI for our clients’ spending on pay-per-click ad campaigns through ongoing optimization and performance monitoring
  • Regularly identifying and presenting new and profitable avenues of paid advertising to clients
  • Working alongside a team of digital marketers (such as SEO specialists, content marketers, and web developers) to ensure that our clients receive the best services and results possible
  • Utilizing strategic thinking and prioritizing tasks to drive successful outcomes and exceptional results in the executed paid search campaigns
  • Staying up-to-date on digital marketing trends and industry best practices to continuously enhance our strategies and improve our services to our clients
  • Demonstrating humility, a hunger to succeed, and an ability to effectively research the methods used by our competitors and identify areas where we can improve results for our clients
  • Working autonomously and taking ownership of all the client accounts assigned to you

Position specifications:

The Paid Search Expert position includes committing to the following:

  • Full-time commitment while meeting our general availability for office hours (10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Phoenix USA Time)
  • Consistently maintain a track record of 40 hours worked per week (8 hours work day)
  • Fixed-rate monthly salary paid in USD
  • Receive contractor status after signing our non-disclosure agreement

Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, provide regular updates, and advise on campaign performance. In addition, you should be able to work independently, use strategic thinking in your work, have superior analytical and technical skills, and be able to organize your work and time as efficiently as possible. 

The ideal candidate is a marketing expert and a strategic and out-of-the-box thinker (like a chess player) who can easily navigate the complex digital landscape, especially regarding paid search campaigns and profitability. Being a team player with a hunger for growth will help you succeed in this role. However, you need to stay at the forefront of industry trends and best practices, continuously working to ensure exceptional outcomes and positive ROI metrics for our clients.

Key requirements:

The Paid Search Expert position has the following key requirements:

  • Proven experience in the industry with 3-5 years of work experience in a similar position, preferably within a digital marketing agency
  • At least 3 years of working experience as a Paid Search Marketer or a similar role
  • Any relevant PPC or paid search certification will be beneficial
  • Experience with overseeing client accounts and managing their paid search campaigns
  • A detailed understanding and working knowledge of demand-side platforms and the practical application of PPC and paid search marketing principles
  • Excellent data analysis and monitoring skills
  • Strong project management skills, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of projects
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proven ability to research competitors, identify opportunities for process improvement, and implement effective paid search solutions for our clients
  • A humble, hungry for success, and smart attitude with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and understanding of our clients and their needs
  • A passion for paid search marketing, industry trends, and digital marketing best practices while constantly seeking growth and improvement in the field
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Familiarity with working autonomously and managing your own time independently and effectively (remote work experience is a plus)
  • Must have a stable internet connection and a laptop or PC, as well as be able to attend virtual video conferences
